Kylie & Kyvie Tan
Violinists
Born in Kuala Lumpur, twin violinists Kylie and Kyvie Tan began weaving music into their lives at the age of four. From those earliest melodies, their artistry blossomed into a voice that has since graced TV9, TV3, BFM Radio, Riverwest Radio (USA), and China Press—a reflection of their growing resonance across cultures and audiences.
By the age of twenty, both sisters had completed their Master’s degrees in Music Performance Studies at UCSI University (2024), following First Class Honours in their Bachelor of Music Performance at Sunway University (2023)—where their talent was nurtured under full scholarship. They are now pursuing PhDs in Music Performance, deepening their search for refinement, insight, and musical truth.
As soloists, chamber musicians, and orchestral performers, the Tan sisters have carried their music across continents—appearing at international festivals including the Clazz Music Festival Arcidosso (Italy, 2022), 2nd International Chamber Music Academy Ochsenhausen (Germany, 2023), Bachfest Leipzig (2024), Ervin Schiffer Masterclass (Tata, Hungary, 2025), and the Miratone Festival (Budapest, 2025).
They perform regularly with the Bachfest Malaysia Festival Singers and Orchestra, including its 2024 Germany tour, and have appeared with the Tutan Festival Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra (NSO), and Selangor Symphony Orchestra (SSO). Their musical path has also intertwined with the Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra, Kuala Lumpur Performing Arts Centre Orchestra, Permata Seni Muzik, and Symphonia Fantasia String Ensemble, among others—each stage a new chapter in their evolution as artists.
Their collaborations span worlds, uniting them with international stars such as Pradeep Kumar, Shila Amzah, Kris Dayanti, Kalyani Nair, Diamond Zhang Bi Chen, and Dato’ Siti Nurhaliza, and bringing their sound to iconic stages including Anugerah Juara Lagu. In 2025, they made a special guest appearance at the Tokyo Auto Salon Kuala Lumpur, presenting the event’s first-ever violin performance—a luminous dialogue between speed, precision, and musical elegance.
Beyond the classical tradition, Kylie and Kyvie continue to explore the meeting point of genres and cultures, shaping a voice that is both contemporary and timeless. Their journey—spanning Malaysia, Singapore, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Italy, Germany, and Hungary—reflects a shared devotion: to reveal beauty, to transcend boundaries, and to let music speak where words fall silent.
